“I love to laugh and I love to make people laugh. Life’s too short to be so serious all the time.”
Ava brings her philosophy of joy, gratitude and personal connection to her role as Producer. Internally, she cultivates successful communication amongst team members and gets projects to the finish line on time and on budget. To our clients and creative partners, she is the friendly voice of progress and inclusion.
Outside of work, Ava enjoys planning events of all sizes, with a particular appreciation for small groups gathered around her dining room table. She believes there’s an illusive “magic” that cultivates comfort and relationships amongst people in close physical proximity. Her friends would agree it’s not unusual to hear laughter around good food and drinks, where Ava is involved.
An avid student of social science and a follower of Harvard’s Shawn Achor, Ava has found success in putting into practice his deliberate habits to manifest happiness. Through simple daily acts, like listing personal reasons for gratitude, 2-minute meditation and sending a note of thanks (via text!), Ava lives a life of joy which spreads to those who come into contact with her.
If you won the lottery and had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
I would pay off my house and sensibly invest the rest. Boooring, I know. I’d also love to give to organizations that support higher education for girls and environmental protection. Ok, and I’d like a new black Tesla. Is there anything left? Nowadays, a million barely buys a house, a car and two hot dogs from the Costco food court.
What thought or message would you want to put in a fortune cookie?
We hope you enjoyed your meal. Now pull up your boot straps, take a deep breath and go out there and make your own fortune.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I speak Farsi. It’s handy when my sister and I need to have a private conversation. Although recently, a Persian doctor in an elevator told me my Farsi needs “major improvement” so I don’t even know.
I also have a love of all things James Bond, and am full of useless fun facts. For example, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (with the once-only George Lazenby as the super spy) is the only film where James Bond gets married. “Tracy Bond” gets killed (because we all know that marriage wouldn’t have worked), and at the beginning of the next film in the series, Live and Let Die, the newly minted Roger Moore leaves a flower on her grave. Then promptly goes back to being a womanizer. Oh, James!
What would the perfect afternoon be like for you?
Warm sun. Charming outdoor cafe. Pint of tasty, locally crafted beer. A good design mag. And obviously something involving baguette and cheese.
How is your passion daily demonstrated at Ambient?
I oversee the micro to macro operation of all our projects. I love the way a project starts like a seed in the ground. And as it gets nurtured through the various stages and through the hands of our talented team, it grows and begins to blossom, eventually blooming into something incredible. It becomes a creative and new thing that didn’t exist in the world before, that Ambient brought forth. I totally love that.
I’ve also had a passion for writing from a very young age, and having the opportunity to create content, from branding and web to marketing and digital media, is very personally rewarding. When people read my work and say “You’re a great writer!” it fills me up, big time. I have a job that I honestly enjoy every day, which is something to be really thankful for.
